As mentioned previously, Lane Crawford award-winning Visual Merchandising team has collaborated with British style icon and fashion impresario, Michael Costiff, to celebrate the season’s tribal-inspired trend through a unique presentation in Lane Crawford ifc mall!

 

A globetrotting fashionista who is known for his ethnic-inspired style, Costiff brings together his worldly experience with a collection from all corners of the world and creates an exclusive installation that perfectly captures the eclectic Nomad Traveller trend of Spring/ Summer 2010. Taking cross-cultural inspirations from North African deserts to the souks of Morocco, Costiff cleverly presents the latest designer collections together with an extraordinary mix of artefacts he has collected throughout the years from indigenous masks and Masai jewellery to ethnic prints and tribal headdresses.

 

Visit Lane Crawford ifc mall from February 25 to March 31, 2010 to take inspirations from style guru Michael Costiff and experience the latest collections available this season.

About Michael Costiff

Known for his flamboyant style, Michael Costiff’s impressive career has encompassed a myriad of cutting-edge attempts into the territories of fine arts, interior design and fashion.

 

Michael Costiff has held a prominent position in the London fashion scene since the 70s and has explored many creative facets throughout his career. As an artist, Costiff’s photographic works and film works have been recognised by numerous established galleries and theatres including London’s Photographers’ Gallery, Institute of Contemporary Arts, and the National Film Theatre in London, among others. As a designer, Costiff explored multiple dimensions from an album cover designer for British new wave legends Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure, to an interior designer for various boutique stores in Tokyo and New York, as well as hit club, the Limelight Nightclub in London. As a globetrotting fashionista, Costiff is known for his free-spirited, ethnic-inspired style.

 

Costiff launched his cult collection WORLD ARCHIVE in the 80s; his unique collection becomes an icon of innovative retail that caught the attention of various world-class designers including Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons. Costiff eventually developed a lasting relationship with Rei Kawakubo and was appointed multiple collaborations for the acclaimed fashion powerhouse, Dover Street Market in London (founded by Rei Kwakubo) to create installation showcasing his superb collection of ethnic clothing and accessories from his collection, WORLD ARCHIVE.

 

Michael Costiff continues to nurture the unlimited creativity and boundless imagination through his applauding contribution towards art and fashion.
